Kardinya Blue def Willetton Sabres
The Sabres were up against some tough competition tonight at Kardinya but the team showed great improvement with all the players contributing well. Some strong hitting, a couple of awesome catching attempts, some classy fielding and a beautiful catch from Kurtis at shortstop to name a few. The score didn’t go our way but the smiles and team spirit were there for all to see. Go Sabres!

Friday night saw the first derby for the u12 Willetton Lynx, taking on the Willetton Pumas. As expected, the Pumas were aggressive in their play, making sure that the Lynx knew that they had a massive game on their hands. Lynx responded well, resulting in a fantastic hour of defence on the field, and hard hitting between the 2 teams – including several home runs. Pumas managed to edge the Lynx for the 1st up derby win, but expect the Lynx to look for revenge at the next game between these 2 teams. Overall, a wonderful evening of teeball and great sportsmanship displayed by all.

Melville Monsters vs Willetton Cougars
The Cougars braved the bugs this morning and put in another improved performance for our second game of the season against Melville. The kids are starting to think more about their gameplay. It was great to see them implementing their “team of two” between shortstop and second base that we had been practicing at training. Special mentions to Eli and Alby for a great out at first, Archie for his wonderful fielding at 3rd, and player of the day Reece, for his two outs.

It was great to be back on the diamond after a first-round bye. The team displayed some great fielding and catching skills. The players showed tremendous spirit, played their best and had fun.
Rucee was player of the day playing in her first-ever teeball game. Great Job Rucee!

Kardinya Red Sox 18 def by Willetton Tigers 36
The result never looked in doubt after some huge slugging all the way through the lineup in the first innings. Home runs to Flynn, Sam J, and Kennie kept the bases empty and some classy teamwork saw plenty of put-outs on defense. Solid batting and good fielding earned Kai the player of the game.

Jaguars: What a fabulous second game to the season! Alex was the player of the day. He had a fabulous day in center field, had some great plays to second base, and helped get a few kids out. Great fielding by the whole team all around today. The kids’ confidence definitely grew as the game went on. I see amazing things ahead for our team this season!
